अनुराधा
The seventeenth nakshatra, from 3°20′ to 16°40′ of Scorpio. Its deity is Mitra, who guards friendship and agreements, and its symbol is a lotus. This is the star of devotion that lasts.
Anuradha means following Radha. The previous nakshatra, Vishakha, is sometimes called Radha, so this one is literally the star that comes after. Where Vishakha chases a goal, Anuradha builds the relationships that make anything worth reaching.
In Hindu mythology, Mitra is one of the Adityas and the god of friendship, contracts and the bonds that hold people together. His name is the ordinary word for friend in several Indian languages. What he governs is not warm feeling alone, it is the promise inside a friendship: the part you keep even when it costs you.
