If your relationships feel empty despite having people around you, if joy feels like a concept you understand intellectually but cannot seem to feel, if beauty and love and pleasure have slowly drained out of your daily life and you do not know why, you are in the right place. The remedies in this guide come from classical Jyotish texts, from what I see in people's lives in the age of social media and dating apps, and from honest practice.
If you are looking for a magical shortcut to attract love or fix a broken relationship overnight, I will be upfront: that does not exist. What does exist is a set of practical, grounded ways of living that help you strengthen Venus from the inside out.
Some of these remedies are rooted in classical Jyotish texts like Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra. Others come from lived experience, from watching how people with strong and weak Venus actually behave, from paying attention to what Venus rewards and what it punishes. Venus does not care about grand romantic gestures performed for show. It cares about how you treat the people around you, how you treat yourself, how you relate to beauty and pleasure and creativity, and whether you carry real warmth in your heart or just the performance of it.
Let's get into it.
Before we talk about remedies, you need to understand who Venus actually is in the mythology, beyond the textbook definition. Once you understand Shukracharya's nature, the remedies make much more sense.
The Birth of Shukracharya, What He Represents, and His Powers
Shukracharya, the sage personified as Venus, is the son of the great sage Bhrigu, and he is also known as Ushanas (or Kavya). Shukra means "bright" or "clear" and acharya means teacher, so his name is usually read as "the radiant preceptor."
What makes Shukracharya unique among the grahas is his role: he is the Guru (preceptor) of the Asuras (demons). While Brihaspati (Jupiter) is the Guru of the Devas, Shukracharya chose to guide the Asuras. He made that choice because he believed the Asuras, despite their flaws, deserved guidance, wisdom, and a teacher who would fight for their survival. In many ways, Shukracharya is the ultimate advocate for the underdog.
The best-known story about Shukracharya is his acquisition of the Mrita Sanjivani Vidya, the knowledge of reviving the dead. Shukracharya performed an extremely intense tapasya (penance) to Lord Shiva to obtain this power. In the story usually told, the penance lasted a thousand years, and he hung head down, breathing in the smoke of burning chaff, a practice so severe that it nearly destroyed his body. Lord Shiva, moved by his devotion and determination, granted him the knowledge. With this power, Shukracharya could bring dead Asura warriors back to life on the battlefield, making the Asura armies nearly invincible and giving them a fighting chance against the Devas.
This is important. Shukracharya earned his power through suffering, devotion, and surrender to Shiva. The planet Venus, in your chart, carries that same quality. It covers more than surface-level beauty and romance: the kind of grace that is earned through real devotion, the kind of refinement that comes from inner work, and the kind of love that survives because it is rooted in something deeper than desire.
Shukracharya also had a complicated relationship with Lord Vishnu. In the version of the Vamana Avatar story most often told, when King Bali (an Asura king under Shukracharya's guidance) was about to donate three steps of land to Vishnu disguised as a dwarf Brahmin, Shukracharya saw through the disguise. He tried to stop Bali from making the donation, knowing that Vishnu would use the three steps to claim the entire universe. When Bali refused to listen, Shukracharya, in a last desperate attempt, took the form of a tiny insect and blocked the spout of the water vessel used in the donation ritual. Vishnu pierced the blockage with a blade of kusha grass, blinding Shukracharya in one eye.
Despite this, Shukracharya's loyalty to his students never wavered. He continued to guide, protect, and resurrect the Asuras through every battle and every loss. That is what Venus carries in your chart. Loyalty. Devotion. The willingness to sacrifice for the people you love. And a beauty that persists even through damage and loss.

Venus is about connection, harmony, and the ability to find beauty and meaning in life. It is the planet that makes life worth living, not just endured. When Venus is strong, you know how to love and how to let yourself be loved. When Venus is weak, even success feels hollow.
Where Venus sits in your birth chart determines which area of life gets the most grace, beauty, and creative drive, and which areas might struggle without them. Don't know where Venus sits in yours? Enter your birth details below and note its house and sign.

Before we get to remedies, it helps to honestly assess where your Venus stands in your life, not just in your chart. Venus is one of those planets where the way you live has a real effect on how strong or weak its energy becomes over time.
Signs of a Strong Venus
A person with a strong Venus carries these qualities naturally:
- Emotionally intelligent and available. They can handle difficult conversations, sit with vulnerability, handle conflict with maturity, and make room for other people's feelings without shutting down or becoming defensive.
- Loving and loyal relationships. Their partnerships are built on emotional intimacy, trust, mutual respect, and real affection, not dependency, social pressure, or convenience.
- Naturally charming and diplomatic. They resolve conflicts through communication and compromise. People feel at ease around them. They have a way of making others feel heard and valued.
- Appreciation for beauty and creativity. They notice beauty in art, music, poetry, fashion, fragrance, nature, and everyday moments. They bring warmth, creativity, and joy into the spaces they inhabit.
- Enjoys wealth and pleasure without excess. They know how to enjoy luxury, comfort, and the good things in life without becoming addicted, materialistic, or self-destructive. And equally important, they are not miserly or stingy. They spend generously, donate willingly, and share what they have without clutching onto every rupee.
- Well-groomed and aesthetically refined. They maintain good hygiene, dress well, keep their surroundings clean and pleasant, and carry a sense of personal presentation that reflects self-respect.
- Treats women and creatives with dignity. They respect women, partners, artists, and anyone engaged in creative work. They see the value in creative expression and emotional labor.
- Healthy relationship with sexuality. Their intimate life is guided by real affection, emotional connection, and self-control. Desire is present but never at the expense of respect.
Signs of a Weak Venus
A weakened Venus shows up through these patterns:
- Low emotional intelligence. Difficulty expressing feelings, emotional suppression, inability to handle vulnerability, and shutting down during emotional conversations.
- Relationship struggles. Poor communication, emotional distance, lack of intimacy, infidelity, disrespect, control dynamics, or a pattern of unhealthy attachment that repeats across relationships.
- Excessive lust and objectification. Compulsive pleasure-seeking, promiscuity driven by emptiness rather than connection, objectification of other people, and an inability to control sensual desires.
- Poor hygiene and careless appearance. Neglected grooming, cluttered and dirty surroundings, little care for personal presentation, and no appreciation for beauty or refinement in daily life.
- Inability to feel joy. Despite material success, the person feels dissatisfied, lonely, bored, or emotionally numb. They hoard wealth, refuse to share or donate, and live with a scarcity mindset even when their bank account says otherwise. The Hindi word kanjoos captures this perfectly. They love money more than people.
- Frequent conflicts and harshness. An inability to compromise, a tendency to dominate rather than cooperate, and a communication style that is aggressive, dismissive, or cruel.
- Disrespect toward women and creative expression. Viewing people primarily through the lens of utility, status, or physical attraction. Not believing in gender equality. Considering women inferior. Dismissing artists, poets, musicians, and emotional intelligence as "useless" or "weak."
- Neglect of joy and softness. Abandoning hobbies, creativity, romance, music, humor, and the gentler pleasures of life, resulting in a dry, cynical, and joyless existence.
A Note About Venus in the Indian Context
This needs to be said directly, because I see it consistently: a large number of Indian men, in particular, either have a naturally weak Venus or if they don't, they systematically weaken it through their behavior over time.
The patterns are everywhere. Objectification of women treated as normal. Stalking, harassing, and sending unsolicited messages to women on social media treated as "just flirting." Every conversation about women's rights and feminism getting derailed into a "but what about men" competition. Emotional unavailability worn as a badge of masculinity. Miserliness glorified as "being smart with money." Hygiene neglected. Creativity dismissed as frivolous. Humor replaced with crude jokes at others' expense. Love and affection treated as weaknesses.
And the irony is painful: the same men who weaken their Venus through these behaviors are often the ones most desperate for love, marriage, and a beautiful relationship. Venus does not work that way. You cannot disrespect everything Venus stands for and then wonder why love does not show up for you. The remedies below are the map back.
For the dates of this year's Venus retrograde, the sign it turns in and what the cycle asks of each ascendant, see Venus retrograde this year.
Before we get into the 15 remedies, here is a foundational framework for any difficult Venus period. This applies whether you are in Venus Mahadasha, a Venus Antardasha, a Venus transit hitting sensitive points in your chart, or simply dealing with a natally weak or afflicted Venus.
Start with honest self-assessment. Look at the signs of weak Venus listed above and ask yourself, with real honesty, which patterns show up in your life, the ones you actually live and not just the ones you can identify. The gap between who you think you are and how you actually behave is where Venus remedies begin.
Fix relationships before rituals. If your closest relationships are strained, if you have been emotionally unavailable to your partner, if you have been disrespectful to women, if you have been hoarding affection out of fear, address that first. No mantra in the world will compensate for a relationship you are actively damaging through your behavior.
Bring beauty back into your daily life. If your surroundings are ugly, cluttered, and neglected, Venus cannot breathe. If you have abandoned music, art, humor, romance, and creativity, Venus is starving. Start small. Clean your space. Play a song you love. Wear something that makes you feel good. Cook a meal with care instead of just consuming calories. Small acts like these are Venus worship in its most direct form.
Be generous, especially when it is hard. Hoarding works against Venus. Hoarding money, hoarding affection, hoarding compliments, hoarding gratitude. If you notice yourself being stingy with any of these, consciously practice giving more, because generosity is what Venus signifies, not because you want karmic points.
Check your chart before you buy a diamond. Diamond is Venus's gem (Phaladeepika 2.29), and white sapphire is the usual lower-cost substitute. A gemstone strengthens whatever Venus does in your chart (opens in a new tab), so it helps when Venus rules good houses for your ascendant (it is the yogakaraka for Capricorn and Aquarius ascendants) and can make things harder when it rules difficult ones. If a full chart check says yes, the traditional setting is silver or platinum, worn on the little finger and put on for the first time on a Friday. Most of the remedies below cost nothing, so I'd start with them.
Now, let's get into the remedies.
This is the single most important Venus remedy, especially for men. Everything else on this list builds on this foundation.
Venus is the planet of the feminine. It governs women, femininity, beauty, grace, and emotional connection. If you disrespect what Venus represents, no amount of mantra chanting, gemstone wearing, or Friday fasting will help. You are fighting the planet you are trying to please.
Treat every woman in your life with dignity. Your mother. Your sister. Your partner. Your female colleagues. Your friends. Women on the street. Women online. Women you agree with. Women you disagree with. Women who are strangers. Yes, even the ones that society has taught you to look down on, judge, shame, misunderstand, exclude, gossip about, label as "too modern", criticize for their choices, question for their independence, or treat as less deserving of respect because they do not fit conventional expectations of how a woman should think, dress, speak, live, love, work, or express herself.
The standard of respect should not change based on your relationship, attraction, or personal opinion of them.
And let me be very specific about what disrespect looks like, because too many people think they are "respectful" while actively damaging their Venus through daily behavior:
- Stop objectifying. When your first evaluation of a woman is her physical appearance and nothing else, that is a Venus problem. When you reduce a person to a body, you are telling the planet of love that you do not understand what love actually is.
- Stop abusing and manipulating. Emotional manipulation, gaslighting, guilt-tripping, controlling behavior, threatening language, these are Venus poisons. Every instance of this weakens your Venus further.
- Stop stalking and harassing. Men who stalk women, chase them after being rejected, write threatening or objectifying messages, send unsolicited sexually explicit messages on Instagram or any platform, they are doing serious damage to their Venus. I have seen charts where Venus-related suffering directly correlates with this kind of behavior.
- Be a feminist. Understand the problems women face. Listen when women talk about their experiences. Do not convert every feminist conversation into a men-versus-women battle. Do not bring up "problems faced by men" every time someone discusses problems faced by women. Do not play the victim card to silence someone else's legitimate pain. Both sets of issues exist. Both deserve space. But one conversation does not invalidate the other.
- Stop commenting and messaging inappropriately. The comment sections of women's social media posts are often a graveyard of weak Venus. Sexual remarks, unsolicited opinions about appearance, passive-aggressive insults disguised as "jokes." Every single one of those comments weakens Venus. If you have done this, stop today.
The Bhagavad Gita speaks about divine qualities in Chapter 16:
"Ahimsa satyam akrodhas tyagah shantir apaishunam, Daya bhuteshv aloluptvam mardavam hrir achapalam."
(अहिंसा सत्यमक्रोधस्त्यागः शान्तिरपैशुनम्। दया भूतेष्वलोलुप्त्वं मार्दवं ह्रीरचापलम्॥)
"Non-violence, truthfulness, freedom from anger, renunciation, tranquility, aversion to fault-finding, compassion toward all beings, freedom from greed, gentleness, modesty, and absence of fickleness." (Bhagavad Gita 16.2)
These are the qualities of a person with divine nature. Read them again. Gentleness. Compassion. Modesty. Freedom from greed. These are also the qualities of a strong Venus. When you cultivate these in yourself, Venus naturally strengthens.
Venus is the planet of refinement. It cares about beauty, aesthetics, and the way you present yourself to the world. Neglecting your physical appearance, hygiene, and surroundings works against Venus at a basic level.
This does not mean you need to look like a model or spend a fortune on clothes. It means treating your body and your environment with basic respect and care.
Bathe regularly. This sounds obvious, but you would be surprised how many people, especially during depressive episodes or difficult planetary periods, let basic hygiene slip. A daily bath is not just physical cleanliness. In Vedic tradition, bathing is a purification ritual. It resets your energy. If you are going through a tough Venus period and everything feels heavy, start your day with a proper bath. It will shift more than you expect.
Wear clean, well-maintained clothes. They do not need to be expensive. They need to be clean, ironed, and worn with intention. Venus appreciates someone who takes the time to present themselves well. White clothing is especially auspicious for Venus, particularly on Fridays.
Maintain personal grooming. Hair, nails, skin, teeth. These are Venus's domain, and taking care of them is self-respect expressed through the body, not vanity. Venus interprets how you treat your own appearance as a reflection of how much you value beauty and refinement.
Keep your surroundings clean and pleasant. Your room, your desk, your bathroom, your kitchen. Venus does best in organized, beautiful, and well-maintained spaces. Clutter, filth, and visual chaos are Venus repellents. You do not need expensive furniture. You need cleanliness, order, and a few touches of beauty: a clean bedsheet, a plant, an organized bookshelf, fresh air.
If your living space has been neglected, cleaning it up is a Venus remedy you will notice right away. The shift in how the room feels is almost instant.

The health of your closest relationships is a direct reflection of how Venus operates in your life. If your relationships are built on lies, emotional distance, or broken commitments, no external remedy can fix what is broken at the core.
Remain loyal to your partner. Infidelity is one of the most direct ways to damage Venus. And I am not just talking about physical infidelity. Emotional infidelity, maintaining secret connections, flirting behind your partner's back, having backup options "just in case," these all corrode Venus from within. If you are in a committed relationship, be in it fully.
Honor your commitments. If you made a promise, keep it. If you said you would be there, show up. If you committed to working on something in your relationship, actually work on it. Venus values follow-through. The gap between what you say and what you do is where Venus's trust erodes.
Cultivate emotional intimacy. This means being willing to share your feelings, your fears, your vulnerabilities with your partner. It means listening when they share theirs. It means creating a space where both people feel safe enough to be fully themselves. For many people, especially men who were raised to suppress emotions, this is the hardest Venus remedy on the list. It is also the one that changes everything.
Communicate with kindness. How you speak to your partner during conflict reveals everything about your Venus. Sarcasm, contempt, the silent treatment, bringing up past mistakes as weapons, these are all signs of weak Venus operating in the relationship. Replace them with honest, kind, direct communication. Say what you feel. Ask what they need. Resolve things as a team, not as opponents.
If you are single, relationship integrity still applies. It means being honest about what you want from connections. Not leading people on. Not ghosting. Not treating dating as a numbers game where other humans are disposable options. Venus respects people who treat potential partners as human beings, not as items on a menu.
Art, music, poetry, dance, drama, comedy, fashion, all forms of creative expression fall under Venus's domain. When you respect and appreciate creativity, you are honoring what Venus cares about.
Respect artists and creatives. Musicians, writers, painters, actors, comedians, dancers, photographers, designers, filmmakers, these people express Venus through their work. When you dismiss creative professions as "not real jobs," when you pirate their work without a second thought, when you consume art endlessly but never value the humans who make it, you are disrespecting what Venus signifies.
Pay for art. Buy that book instead of downloading a pirated PDF. Pay for the music subscription. Attend a live performance and buy a ticket. Commission work from independent artists. When you pay for creative work, you are participating in the cycle that keeps Venus's arts alive in society.
Engage with beauty deliberately. Visit a gallery. Listen to a full album without scrolling through your phone. Watch a film that challenges you emotionally, not just entertains you. Read poetry. Cook a meal with artistic intention. Arrange your space with care. Passive, mindless consumption does little for Venus, while active engagement with beauty does a lot.
Support comedians and humor. This is often overlooked in discussions about Venus. Comedy is a Venusian art form. The ability to find humor in life, to make others laugh, to use wit instead of cruelty, these are all Venus expressions. When you lose your sense of humor, when life becomes entirely serious and joyless, Venus suffers. Support comedy. Laugh more. Find people who make you laugh and treasure them.
At the same time, learn to tolerate satire, criticism, and uncomfortable truths about your favourite actor or politician expressed through humor. A mature society does not respond to jokes, opinions, or artistic expression with intimidation, threats, harassment, censorship, or violence. You do not have to agree with every comedian, nor do you have to find every joke funny. But disagreement should be answered with dialogue, criticism, or simply choosing not to watch, never with attempts to silence, punish, or harm those whose views challenge your beliefs, values, identities, or favorite public figures.
However, supporting comedy does not mean celebrating every joke. Avoid rewarding content that disguises prejudice as "dark humor" or "just a joke." Humor that routinely punches down at vulnerable communities, mocks people for their caste, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, appearance, sexuality, economic status, or other circumstances beyond their control often creates division rather than joy. Venusian humor uplifts, connects, and humanizes. It may be sharp, provocative, or critical, but it should not rely on demeaning others, especially those who are already marginalized or oppressed. Repeatedly ridiculing vulnerable people can severely damage Saturn's expression in your life.
Express your own creativity. You do not need to be professionally talented. Sing in the shower. Write in your journal. Doodle. Cook something new. Arrange flowers. Style an outfit. Creativity is about expression more than talent, and when you express yourself creatively, even privately, Venus benefits.
Sexuality, desire, and sensual pleasure all fall under Venus. When Venus is healthy, desire expresses itself through real emotional connection, mutual respect, and self-awareness. When Venus is weak or afflicted, it shows up as compulsion, objectification, and consumption that leaves you emptier than before.
Avoid promiscuity driven by lust alone. This is not about moral policing or shaming anyone's choices. It is about honestly examining your motivations. If your sexual behavior is driven by real connection, mutual desire, and emotional intimacy, Venus supports it. If it is driven by emptiness, boredom, conquest, ego, or compulsive craving, it is weakening Venus every time.
Avoid pornography and adult industry content. This is a Venus remedy that many people resist hearing, but it needs to be said clearly. The adult industry is built on the systematic exploitation and trafficking of women. It can harm consumers psychologically, distorts expectations of intimacy, normalizes abuse, and desensitizes you to real human connection. Every minute you spend consuming this content feeds the exact pattern that weakens Venus: objectification, exploitation, and the replacement of real intimacy with a hollow simulation.
I understand that this is a deeply personal topic and that people are at different stages of their relationship with it. I am not here to shame anyone. But I will say this honestly: if you are struggling with Venus-related issues in your life, whether that is difficulty forming emotional bonds, dissatisfaction in relationships, or a persistent inability to feel romantic connection, reducing or eliminating adult content consumption can make a big difference. The difference often shows up within weeks.
Practice sexual expression with safety and consent. There is nothing wrong with having sexual preferences or kinks. What matters is that they are practiced with safety, mutual enthusiasm, clear consent, and communication with your partner. For Venus, what matters is how you treat the person you desire.
Let intimacy be guided by emotional connection. Venus in sexuality is at its strongest when physical closeness is an extension of emotional closeness. When you feel seen, safe, and connected to another person, and the physical intimacy flows from that, you are experiencing Venus at its highest. That is worth working toward.
This is one of the oldest Venusian remedies, and also one of the simplest.
Venus has a deep connection with fragrance, perfume, and the sense of smell. In Indian tradition, pleasant scents have long been associated with Venus. Wearing fragrance is more than smelling good. It is an act of Venusian refinement that shifts your mood, your confidence, and the way other people experience being around you.
Wear pleasant perfumes, attar, or natural fragrances daily. Attar (traditional Indian perfumes made from natural botanical sources) are especially Venusian. Rose attar, jasmine, sandalwood, and kewra are classically Venusian fragrances. If you prefer modern perfumes, choose ones that feel pleasant to you, not ones chosen purely for brand value.
Use incense and natural fragrances in your home. Burning sandalwood incense, rose-scented agarbatti, or camphor during your evening prayers creates a Venusian atmosphere in your living space. Venus is the planet of the pleasant senses, so a home that smells good is a simple Venus remedy.
Offer fragrance to the Divine. When you offer flowers and incense during worship, you are performing a Venusian act. The tradition of offering pushpanjali (flower offerings) to deities is part of Venus's domain.
This remedy works on a subtle level. Fragrance lifts your mood, makes you more pleasant to be around, and signals to your own subconscious that you value refinement. For something that takes thirty seconds each morning, it is one of the easiest Venus remedies to keep up.

Dana (charitable giving) is one of the most common remedies in Jyotish, and for Venus, the tradition favors white-colored food items and sweets.
Donate sweets, kheer, curd, ghee, rice, and other white-colored foods. These are traditionally associated with Venus, and Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra (Ch. 84, v.23-24) lists rice cooked with ghee as the food to offer for Venus. On Fridays, which is Venus's day, preparing and distributing these items to people who need them is a simple, steady remedy.
Prepare and share food with love. Cooking itself is a Venusian act, especially when done with care and intention. Prepare a meal for your family with real effort. Share food with neighbors, friends, or anyone who might appreciate it. Feed people at temples, shelters, or community kitchens. Nourishing others through food you prepared with your own hands is Venus worship.
Offer sweets to deities. During your Friday prayers or any worship, offer prasad in the form of white sweets, especially peda, rasgulla, kheer, or mishri (rock sugar). Share the prasad with others after worship.
If you want to make this a consistent practice, pick one Friday each month to prepare kheer or halwa and distribute it to people in your neighborhood, at a temple, or at a shelter. A small offering given with a warm heart every month does more than a grand gesture done once and forgotten.

Women, marriage, and domestic happiness all fall under Venus. One of the most practical ways to strengthen Venus is by helping girls and women who need support.
Assist underprivileged girls with education and food. Many girls in India and around the world are denied education due to poverty, cultural barriers, or family circumstances. Sponsoring a girl's education, contributing to NGOs that support girls' schooling, or directly helping a family keep their daughter in school is a Venus remedy that changes a real person's life.
Support survivors of sexual violence. Donate to organizations that provide shelter, legal aid, counseling, and rehabilitation for women and girls who have survived sexual assault, domestic violence, or trafficking. Venus signifies women and partners, so supporting survivors of gender-based violence is a fitting form of Venus charity today.
Contribute to marriages for those in need. In Vedic tradition, supporting a girl's marriage is considered a very high form of Venus-related charity. In practical terms, this can mean helping families who cannot afford wedding expenses, donating to organizations that support mass marriages for economically disadvantaged couples, or simply being generous and helpful when someone in your community is getting married.
Support related charitable causes and NGOs. Organizations working on women's education, women's health, menstrual hygiene, maternal care, prevention of child marriage, and rehabilitation of trafficking survivors all work in Venus's area. Even a small monthly contribution to any of these causes works as a Venus remedy.
Emotional intelligence, empathy, vulnerability, the ability to connect with other human beings on a level that is not surface-level, all of this is Venus territory. If your emotional life is underdeveloped, Venus cannot give its best results, however many rituals you perform.
Work on empathy. Empathy is the ability to feel what another person is feeling, which goes further than understanding it intellectually. Practice this deliberately. When someone tells you about their struggle, resist the urge to fix it, minimize it, or redirect the conversation to yourself. Just listen. Feel. Be present. That act of empathic presence is Venus in its purest form.
Practice vulnerability. This is terrifying for most people, especially in cultures where emotional openness is seen as weakness. But Venus grows stronger with vulnerability. Sharing your fears, your uncertainties, your pain with someone you trust is not weakness. It is one of the bravest things a person can do, and it is the foundation of every deep relationship.
Develop emotional intelligence. This means learning to identify your own emotions accurately, understanding what triggers them, managing them without suppressing or exploding, and reading the emotional states of others with sensitivity. There are good books, courses, and therapists who can help you develop this. It is a learnable skill, not something you either have or you do not.
Heal your emotional wounds. Many people carry unresolved emotional trauma that blocks what Venus can give them. Childhood neglect, parental criticism, bullying, rejection, heartbreak, these experiences create patterns that keep repeating in adult relationships. Working with a therapist to heal these patterns is a Venus remedy that produces real change.
Venus is about giving, the warm and joyful kind rather than the reluctant, calculated kind. If you notice that you are hoarding wealth, compliments, affection, or gratitude, you are blocking Venus.
Practice daily kindness. Give someone a compliment you mean. Help a neighbor with their groceries. Buy flowers for someone who does not expect them. Write a thank-you note. Surprise your partner with something thoughtful. These are not grand gestures. They are the daily currency of a strong Venus.
Be generous with your wealth. Miserliness works against Venus. If you earn well but refuse to spend on others, refuse to tip, refuse to donate, refuse to buy gifts, refuse to treat the people you love, you are poisoning Venus. Generosity does not mean recklessness with money. It means a real willingness to share what you have with others without keeping a mental ledger of returns.
Practice hospitality. Invite people to your home. Cook for them. Create a warm, welcoming environment. In Indian culture, Atithi Devo Bhava (the guest is God) is one of the most Venusian values. When you host someone with warmth and generosity, Venus responds.
Express gratitude openly. Say thank you and mean it. Acknowledge the people who make your life easier: your partner, your parents, your friends, your colleagues, service workers. Gratitude is Venus in verbal form. People with strong Venus express it naturally. People with weak Venus forget to.
Pleasure, luxury, comfort, the good things in life, Venus is in charge of all of it. And the remedy here is not to reject pleasure. Venus never asks for austerity. The remedy is to enjoy it consciously, without letting it become an addiction, an obsession, or a substitute for real happiness.
Enjoy wealth without hoarding. Earn well, live comfortably, enjoy the fruits of your labor. But do not let money become your identity. Do not let the fear of losing wealth prevent you from spending it on experiences, relationships, and causes that matter. A rich Venus shows in a life full of love, beauty, and connection more than in a bank balance.
Enjoy luxury without excess. A beautiful home, good food, fine clothing, these are all Venus blessings. Enjoy them. But notice when enjoyment tips into compulsion. When you need the luxury to feel okay. When the comfort becomes a crutch. When the pleasure of acquiring things replaces the pleasure of living. That is where Venus starts to weaken.
Spend on charitable causes. A good way to keep Venus balanced is to ensure that your enjoyment of wealth includes sharing it. Donate to causes you believe in. Fund someone's education. Help a friend in financial difficulty. Treat your family. When wealth flows outward as generously as it flows inward, Venus stays strong.
Do not hoard. Money, possessions, affection, compliments, help, whatever you find yourself clutching onto, practice letting it flow. Venus is a planet of flow, not accumulation. People who give freely tend to receive freely. People who hoard find their life slowly draining of the very richness they were trying to protect.
This remedy gets overlooked in almost every astrological remedy article, but it might be one of the most important for Venus specifically.
Joy, laughter, romance, playfulness, the lightness of being that makes life feel worth living, this is all Venus. When you lose access to these qualities, when life becomes nothing but work, obligations, seriousness, and survival, Venus withers.
Preserve humor in your life. Laugh more. Not at the expense of others, but at the absurdity of life, at your own mistakes, at shared moments of ridiculousness with the people you love. A person who can laugh easily is a person whose Venus is breathing.
Maintain hobbies. Cook. Garden. Paint. Play music. Dance in your room. Build something with your hands. Watch films that move you. Read for pleasure, not just productivity. Play sports. Travel to places that inspire awe. Whatever brings you alive outside of work and obligation, protect it. Do not let the busyness of life kill the things that actually make you happy.
Keep romance alive. Whether you are in a relationship of six months or twenty years, romance is not optional for Venus. Surprise your partner. Write them a note. Plan a date. Hold hands. Flirt. Do the things you did when you first fell in love. Romance is something you keep doing, not a phase you pass through, and the relationship feels it when you stop.
Listen to music. Music is one of Venus's most direct channels. If your life has become silent, if you have stopped listening to the songs and artists that move you, reintroduce them. Create playlists for different moods. Listen actively, not just as background noise. Let the music affect you. That is Venus being nourished through your ears.
Do not become emotionally dry or cynical. Cynicism is the opposite of Venus. When you stop believing in love, beauty, goodness, and the possibility of real connection, you have built a wall that Venus cannot get through. Cynicism is not intelligence. It is a defense mechanism that protects you from disappointment by killing your capacity for joy. A strong Venus means staying open, even when it hurts, even when love has let you down before.
Friday is Shukravar, Venus's day. Observing specific practices on Fridays is one of the most traditional and widely recommended Venus remedies in Vedic Astrology.
Observe a Friday fast. Fasting on Fridays is the traditional fast for Venus. You can do a full fast (consuming only water or milk) or a partial fast (eating only white foods like rice, curd, kheer, and fruits). The discipline of fasting, done with the intention of honoring Venus, is what makes it a remedy.
Wear clean white clothing on Fridays. White is the color most traditions give Venus, and Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra (Ch. 84, v.10) describes Shukra as fair. Wearing white on Fridays, especially during worship, is a simple Venus practice. It does not need to be entirely white. Even incorporating white into your outfit on Fridays is a meaningful gesture.
Dedicate the day to Venus-related spiritual practices. Use Fridays for mantra chanting, worship of Goddess Lakshmi or Durga, reading devotional literature, and practicing any of the other remedies on this list with extra focus. Friday is ruled by Venus, which is why it is the traditional day for these practices.
Donate Venus-related items on Fridays. White clothes, white flowers (especially jasmine), rice, sugar, curd, ghee, perfume, or silver items can be donated on Fridays. In Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, giving a cow (or a female buffalo) in charity is the remedy Parashara names most often for a troubled Venus Antardasha (Ch. 52 to 60). In modern times, donating to a Goshala (cow shelter) or supporting animal welfare organizations serves the same purpose.
Among devotional remedies for Venus, worship of Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Durga is the most widely recommended. Parashara names Shachi (Indrani, the consort of Indra) as Venus's presiding deity (Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra Ch. 3, v.18), but in his chapters on Venus Antardashas the goddesses he turns to are Durga and, in the Rahu Mahadasha, Durga and Lakshmi together (Ch. 55, v.56-59).
Goddess Lakshmi
Lakshmi is the consort of Lord Vishnu and the goddess of wealth, prosperity, beauty, grace, and fortune. She embodies most of what Venus signifies, which is why so many people worship her for Venus.
Lakshmi does not just represent material wealth. She represents Aishwarya (abundance in all forms): love, health, peace, beauty, wisdom, and contentment. Venus does best in homes where Lakshmi is worshipped with real devotion and clean living.
Daily practice: Chant "Om Shreem Mahalakshmyai Namah" (ॐ श्रीं महालक्ष्म्यै नमः) 108 times, especially on Fridays. Light a ghee lamp in the evening and place it at your home altar. Keep your home clean and welcoming, as Lakshmi is said to reside in clean, harmonious spaces and leave spaces that are dirty, chaotic, or filled with conflict.

The Shri Suktam is the Vedic hymn to Lakshmi, and you can chant it or listen to it regularly. I'd especially recommend it during Venus Mahadasha, Venus Antardasha, or any period where Venus needs strengthening.
Goddess Durga
Durga is the fierce mother goddess who destroys ignorance, fear, and all forms of negativity. In Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, Durga is the deity Parashara names most often for a troubled Venus Antardasha: Durga Path (reciting the Durga Saptashati) in Venus's own sub-period of its Mahadasha (Ch. 60, v.11) and in the Venus sub-periods of the Saturn and Ketu Mahadashas (Ch. 57, v.35-36; Ch. 59, v.15), Durga's mantras in the Mercury Mahadasha (Ch. 58, v.18-19), and Durga with Lakshmi in the Rahu Mahadasha. He gives these for the harder cases, when Venus is badly placed or rules the 2nd or 7th house, often alongside the gift of a cow.
When Venus is afflicted and your relationships are suffering, when emotional pain feels overwhelming, when you feel trapped in patterns of desire and dissatisfaction, Durga is the goddess people turn to for cutting through that kind of suffering.
Daily practice: Chant "Om Dum Durgayai Namah" (ॐ दुं दुर्गायै नमः) 108 times. The ideal days for Durga worship are Tuesdays and Fridays. During Navaratri (the nine nights of the Goddess), intensify your worship with fasting, recitation, and devotion.
Worship both Lakshmi and Durga regularly, and you will usually find that what Venus gives you, the capacity for love, beauty, prosperity, and emotional depth, strengthens gradually.
Mantra and stotra recitation is a traditional remedy for every planet. For Venus, these are the recitations I'd recommend.
Venus Mantras
The primary Venus mantra:
"Om Shum Shukraya Namah"
(ॐ शुं शुक्राय नमः)
Chant this 108 times daily, or at a minimum on every Friday. Use a mala (prayer beads), ideally made of crystal (sphatik) or tulsi. The ideal time is during Venus's hora (the planetary hour of Venus) or during the early morning. Consistency matters far more than perfection. Even if you miss a day, resume without guilt.
The Shukra beej mantra:
"Om Draam Dreem Draum Sah Shukraya Namah"
(ॐ द्रां द्रीं द्रौं सः शुक्राय नमः)
108 repetitions a day is the usual practice. If you want to complete a full japa, Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra (Ch. 84, v.17-20) sets 16,000 recitations for Venus, spread over as many days as you need. Other texts give other totals, so 108 a day done steadily is the part that matters.
Siddha Kunjika Stotra
The Siddha Kunjika Stotra is a short hymn that carries the essence of the Durga Saptashati. The stotra itself says that reciting it gives the benefit of reciting the whole Durga Saptashati, which makes it a practical choice if you don't have time for the full text.
Durga Saptashati
The Durga Saptashati (also known as Devi Mahatmyam or Chandi Path) is a widely read devotional text in Hinduism. It narrates the stories of the Goddess destroying various forms of ignorance and evil. Reading or listening to the complete Durga Saptashati during difficult Venus periods, especially during Navaratri, is the classical Durga Path that Parashara recommends.
Pray to Shiva or Vishnu
Shiva and Vishnu are the supreme gods in the Hindu tradition. Every planetary problem, every karmic burden, every kind of suffering can be addressed through sincere devotion to the Supreme.
Shukracharya himself earned his greatest power, the Mrita Sanjivani Vidya, through devotion to Lord Shiva. When you pray to Shiva with real surrender, the karma connected to every planet, including Venus, begins to soften. The karma does not disappear, but Shiva gives you the strength, the wisdom, and the grace to transform it.
Chant "Om Namah Shivaya" (ॐ नमः शिवाय) or "Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya" (ॐ नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय) with sincerity. Read the Bhagavad Gita. Listen to the Vishnu Sahasranama. Visit a Shiva temple and sit quietly for a while.
Lord Krishna promises in the Bhagavad Gita:
"Sarva dharman parityajya mam ekam sharanam vraja, Aham tvam sarva papebhyo mokshayishyami ma shuchah."
(सर्वधर्मान्परित्यज्य मामेकं शरणं व्रज। अहं त्वां सर्वपापेभ्यो मोक्षयिष्यामि मा शुचः॥)
"Abandon all varieties of dharma and surrender unto Me alone. I shall liberate you from all sins. Do not grieve." (Bhagavad Gita 18.66)
When the soul sincerely surrenders to the Divine, grace burns through karma that would otherwise take lifetimes to exhaust. You do not need to figure everything out yourself. Surrender, and let the Divine work through you.
You don't need to be perfect for Venus remedies to work, but you do need to mean them.
Every remedy on this list comes back to the same thing: Venus rewards love, respect, beauty, emotional depth, and generosity. There is no mantra powerful enough to compensate for disrespecting women. There is no gemstone that can substitute for real emotional intimacy. There is no Friday fast that offsets a life lived without beauty, humor, creativity, or joy.
But when you combine sincere effort with real devotion, when you start treating the women in your life with respect, when you clean up your appearance and your surroundings, when you choose loyalty over temptation, when you open yourself to the vulnerability that real love requires, Venus starts to respond. The change is usually slow and steady rather than dramatic.
If your Venus has been weak, you can still work on it. Every single pattern of a weak Venus listed in this article is something you can change. Start with one or two remedies you can keep up, and give them a few months.
I would love to know where Venus is placed in your chart and which of these remedies you plan to start with. Are you going through Venus Mahadasha? Is Venus your Atmakaraka, or your Darakaraka? Is it sitting in a tough house or aspected by malefics? Drop your experience in the comments below. If you are going through Saturn Mahadasha Venus Antardasha specifically, you can read the detailed breakdown of that period as well. Your story might be exactly what someone else reading this needs to hear right now.
